Warlock DPS is obviously far lower than mages and hunters, but they can still DPS some.

If warlocks are supposed to be on par with mages and hunters, then we aren't such great DPS in Naxx :P

If you factored in the curse dmg you're adding, warlocks helps alot more than ppl realize, just cuz its not shown on a dmg meter doesnt mean shit.

look, I'm not trying to start anything here, and in no way do I care about 1vs1 PVP...
it was never fair in the past, and 1v1 PVP will never ever be fair in the future regardless of class sets and items.
above all, I'm not posting this to start a fight amonst you guys.

what I was getting at was all the crying that is going on that:
now that most "BOSS events" are "timed" and mages, rogues, and fury warriors can go balls out on them.
the DPS disparity between a fury warrior and a hunter could be as large as 600DPS for the warrior, and 400DPS for the hunter.
on a 3 or 4 min fight, that would be insane.
and it has been said on the forums that mages and rogues have no problems doing the same...while hunters and locks still have not had any upgrades to match this.

in my eyes (and I haven't even loged on in ages), this has to be wrong misinformation.
really, can blizz really unbalance classes that much and have no idea what is going on?

I mean, let's face it, blizz developers have absolutly no idea how the classes work.
I don't care what they say, there is no proof that they even test the game durring each patch.
also, while I'm glad that the tier3 set bonus to kill our kitty in order to gain like 2 DPS was changed and fixed to a realistic bonus...I do hope they fired that tool for having no idea how our class works or what is reasonable for hunters.
I mean really, every class has had times when thier class set or items suck, but all the crying has to be false at this time.
it just can't be that bad in PVE, can it???

yes, hunters will never get a fair shake when it comes to DPS...we will always be at the bottom, unless mages and rogues have to hold back on some fights like ebonroc and broodlord.
we've never gotton a fair shake at anything since battle shout was taken away...even winterspring firewater would be nice.

but when I still see hunters and locks cry about how they just can't keep up anymore, and at best, top guilds are only letting 3 hunters max join raids due to the LACK of DPS they offer...well, I just hope it's not true.
it would be sad if such a class like the warlock or hunter get short changed for much longer.

at least leaders like ZX sees the importance that warlocks and hunters bring to the table...or the raid for that matter.
but realy guys, unless the storys are totaly untrue like ZX says, just how much longer can this go on?

Warkat,

Its silly to think any sensible raid leader bases his raid make up based on the DPS meter. I'd have to say that any hunter/lock/etc that gets told "No room for you, need DPS class" is being told that because they're a lousy raider, not because their class sucks.

On the whole, I think Blizz has made a lot of effort recently to bring all classes to the table in raids. With MC, it didn't factor for them. In BWL, it is more so. In AQ its a lot more important, and in Naxx, I reckon there are some must-haves for encounters. Blizz is learning along with everyone else.

I also think Blizz was looking somewhat at class populations when they began balancing the later instances. Warlocks population is about 7-9%, as are druids. Naturally, there will be less of them in raids, as there presumably, will be less available. What Blizzard couldn't necessarily have foreseen was that after our review(s) in 1.6/7, we suddenly went from very squishy to a dominate pvp class, and tons of nubs rolled warlocks. I also think hunters have become a favorite second-roll for many people, as they appear a fun class to play.

Finally, dumb raid leaders don't take into consideration that the 200 decrease in DPS you mention is pretty small in the big scope of things when fighting a mob with 100ks of HPs. With 40 people working a mob, the 200 dps isn't going to significantly change the outcome of the event. They also don't consider how the DPS must be applied. When doing Golemagg, for instance, 10 warriors are going to take 10x more mana to keep alive as they DPS than 10 hunters.

It is true that on timed fights where other classes can go 100% all out and not care about aggro that hunters and warlocks fall behind. An example of this is patchwerk or loatheb. In both those fights hunters and warlocks will run OOM before mages and unlike rogues/warriors who can't run OOM their dps will die when they run out of mana.

However on other fights like anub, noth, heigan etc there is still aggro involved and hunters can be right up there with mages etc. In bwl/mc there was alot of aggro sensitive fights where hunters could go all out as long as they feigned and less of these fights in naxx. That is why many are complaining, but I don't see a reason to, the classes are working like they were designed.

At least blizzard finally got a clue on how to design our T3 set and it has a nice ammount of mana regen and set bonuses that help with the regen of mana.

Sup Warkat :) I miss playing with you.
