Seems ambush and backstab never had the right multiplier before.

In this patch they fixed that, the result you ask? 3000 dmg, UNCRITICAL ambushes. GG mages, GG preists, GG warlocks.

Its over man, its over. I really have no idea how to cope with this. Mages might be able to frost nova and get away with 1 or 2k hp left, preists might get lucky and psychic scream, but jesus, warlocks got nothing for it...

So instead of nerfing sword/mace rogues, they buff dagger rogues?

ahh yes, another lieing post about rogues. whoever said 3000 damage uncritical ambush is completely lieing. someone who said that probably got pwned by a rogue and cried to the forums. you'll never see 3000 ambush.

It was actually a gloating rogue. I checked it out for myself and it looks like ambush can crit for around 2500 pretty easy, which is still insane.

And yeah, rogues do pwn me, still havent devised a way to do anything to them. Theres lots of nice juicy anti-CC items in that patch to, doesnt seem to be any way to compensate for all of this nerfage.

I really wish I had picked a rogue, or another pet dev class. Remember invisibility? And the outcry b/c mages
could farm instances easily? What was the outcome? A knee-jerk reaction of removing the spell.

Fast-forward 6 months to the stealth + SM issue. What was the outcome of that? NOT a knee-jerk reaction of nerfing stealth but actually nerfing the vendor value of the items.

Thanks Tigole. Rogues, you're in 'good' hands.

The issue with invisibility was not the farming of SM, it was the fact that it was way too powerful in pvp.

I've always felt that the invis change was because Mages were becomeing a ranged magic based rogue and it didn't fit their primary role of support dps and CC.

yea, and pyro did about twice the upfront damamge, with no over-time component. coupled with combustion, mages would easily one-shot most classes. you'd be out killing mobs, and every 15 minutes or so you'd just randomly drop dead. no chance to see the mage coming, or casting, or anything.

...and of course, mages argued that it was balanced, because you could buy piles of fire protection pots and keep the damage shield up at ALL times. :roll:
