I'm back home in SC. My eldest daughter, who usually stays with her mom in Louisiana, is staying with me since they lost their apartment along with my nephew, my mother and grandpa. I have a full house and talk about stress trying to care for victims of a tragedy, not much you can do other then try to make them feel safe.
On top of that my son is almost 13, so he's starting to wonder about things and rebel. I think my nephew who's 17 is adding fuel to the fire, talking about things or making comments my son and daughters are not accustomed to hearing. Just the other day my 8 year old asked me "dad what's a lesbian".... LOL. I'm just waiting for when my eldest daughter (12) to jump on the bandwagon and start asking questions.
I'm glad they are asking me instead of other people but trying to answer their questions without getting into too much detail is a tough juggling act that I’m trying to master.
I keep joking with the wife saying that I’ll just pop a "video" in for my son to watch and then ask him ok kido any questions? Just kidding. Well that is just a short incite of my typical day and the best part is I work nightshift, so I’m not even home or awake when all this stuff goes down.
On a light side, I think I need a break from life, so will be on this weekend to try to spend some time in a less stressful environment with you all, hope there's a spot for me =).
