Rock too powerful.

Postby Apotheosis on Tue Jun 14, 2005 3:37 pm

Hi, I'm a pair of Scissors with some observations about the power of Rocks and why those powers are too potent and need to be changed.

I think it's fair to say that I'm a good pair of Scissors; I've faced many Papers, for instance, and despite their nimble flimsiness and suffocating defense, I've found myself able to overcome the somewhat limited potential provided by my sharp cuts and pointed end. So, both Paper and Scissors seem fine to me; they are two objects with strengths and weaknesses. The problem arises whenever I am unfortunate enough to run into a Rock; their hard, rough surface is nearly impenetrable, and I find both my stabs and my cuts to be harmlessely deflected. Perhaps I could tolerate such defense, if Rocks did not have similarly potent offensive capabilities; when Rocks smash against me, I can literally be destroyed in a single hit. This combination of potent offense and superb defense is unacceptable.

To reemphasize: as a highly experienced pair of level 60 Scissors, I find that the power of Scissors and Paper are appropriate and fair. But Rocks are too powerful 1v1, and need to be nerfed.

Yeah, that guy.

Rocks really REALLY ought to get a nerf.

I wonder whom this was directed at ... anyways, he must have left this as a kindof frig-notice, thinking no better of it than an attempt to talk a 2x4 into sea-skiing. Ah, can't have a brain and be fully content they say.

I'm guessing I'm not the same person: this is my first MMO of any kind. I come from an FPS background: CS, UT, and several incarnations of TF most especially. Apotheosis has been my handle since I began gaming about 5 years ago.
