verb's unit frame setup

Postby verbim on Sun Oct 09, 2005 6:29 pm

well, using discord unit frames, I made my own setup (took me 3 hours) that i'm actually pretty proud of.

imo it's the perfect blend of minimalism and utility, and a thing of beauty if you see it in action

Image

topleft is your own health/mana, with your pet's hp/mana at the corner.

right of that is your target's target, that displays a % of health when active.

right of that is your target, with % hp displayed, along with tapped/elite/class/race/name/level info. also displayed are all 16 buff and debuff slots. above the frame are combo points, and the corners contain partyleader/loot icons, and status/pvp icons.

for your party members, it displays name, level, class, and numeric hp/mp values. in the corners are their pet's hp bars and %hp values (visible only if they have a pet) to the right are debuffs, which flash if active. below are buffs.

now, everything but the hp/mp bars is transparent to be as unobtrusive as possible... the less vital the information is, the more transparent I made it. also, nothing is visible unless active.

finally, hp bars change color progressively as you/they take damage... along with the unit frame behind it (the grey rectangle that holds all info). and, when you or your party members get to 20% or below, the entire frame will flash red to warn you.

anyway.. I think it's perfect. everything I could ever want, and none of the extra bullshit I dont need. I'd recommend you give it a shot.. the screen doesnt do it justice.

also, it's set up so party members aren't displayed if in a raid. that way you can just use ctraid assist instead

discord action bars, actually.

its the only mod I've found that lets me bind 20 keys to my mainbar. I use 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 a q w t g y h b v c x and z, each with unique bindings depending on my form/stance

dab is cool and all but I've found that if you know what your doing flexbar is not only quicker to configure but it also you do so much more. only thing dab has over flexbar is super userfriendliness

That unit frames mod is hot... I'll check it once I get the game reinstalled.

that, and a low system overhead. the event functionality of flexbar is both something I never use, and a huge system hog. I get everything I want from dab and nothing I don't.

Is that website safe to download from? It looks like a typical geocities-keylogger site....
