Starcraft 2?

I don't know about the rest of you but I'm pretty excited to see what is coming out on Saturday. A lot of sites are saying Starcraft 2 but it could also be a Diablo game.

I think the quote beneath Kerigan was a little more serious then todays which made me laugh at a picture of a flaming skull. However if they want us to "stay a while and listen" then you've got my attention.

Personally I'm hoping it's not Diablo 3/MMO just because I'm not sure if the average computer has progressed far enough to give the game the proper art and lighting it would require to make the jump to full 3D. Diablo has always been about exceptionally well drawn enviroments with a lot of gorey details, and the lighting has always cast foreboding shadows and hidden unknown terrors.

I hope SC2 isn't too cartoonish looking though. I was getting really excited about the style in Ghost before it got canned.

it was pretty obvious it was gonna be sc2.

they had said that their rts team was working on a new game. they had also said they were planning on revisiting the sc world when ghost got cancelled. and furthermore, they registered starcraft2.com over a year ago.

they did a good job preventing actual leaks, but as far as the game itself goes, it was no surprise that it was sc2.

Well so far as I am concerned, Command and Conquer 3 did an awesome job at being SC2 already. Logistically enhanced units, single unit abilities and promotions, rotative building and map interface ... the only thing that was left out of it is the hero feeling which was a good addition to wc3 - though it's not the kind of thing you actually "expect" from a RTS game.

The races had particularities and balance that totally reminded of starcraft: GDI=ran, Scrin=toss, NOD=zerg.

I kindof hope they release a 4th race and/or put a milder version of heroes/items and/or push the macro over micro side of the old starcraft vs warcraft. Either way, something to make it an actually different game.

Fortunately, we know they'll do a good job with the battle.net interface, unlike EA that fucked it up with GameSpy.
